When it comes to your health, you need to be your own advocate. You need to do your own research and question everything & everyone. There are people out there who you may be inspired by and get idea’s from, but do not put them on a pedestal because they will let you down. They are only human. Think for yourself. The internet can kill our critical thinking skills at times, making us more susceptible to group think rather than individual think. This leads to a lack of creativity, innovation and knowledge. A lot of us are misinformed because we read one article about a topic and believe it to be 100% true without doing any further investigating for ourselves. The reality is, two people could read the same article or study and come up with two completely different interpretations of it. It’s up to you to decide what is right and wrong. So when you finish reading an article, let the information sink in then question it. Then question it again. Admit to yourself this could be wrong, biased or misinformed. If you form an opinion on an article, research the opposite of that opinion. Read all the articles & studies that do not support what you believe in. Get to know the other side. It’s fun really. Instead of relying on a “guru” to do the research for us, we need to express our intellectual curiosity and probe into things for ourselves. We need to be active with our brains instead of letting other people do the dirty work for us. Your health is the most important thing. When you let other peoples opinions & bias overshadow your own intuition, you take a gamble with your health and happiness.
